City of Bono Storm Shelters

City of Bono Storm Shelter

This year has been plagued by severe weather alerts and surrounding areas being hit hard by damaging severe storms. These recent events have triggered a request from residents from Bono for Storm Shelters. Mayor Danny Shaw heard the concerns and request and has been working diligently for some time to make this happen. Currently we have one Storm Shelter ready for use at 216 School Street, next to our City Shop. Another Storm Shelter will be ready at 100 Woodland Trails. It is located between City Hall at 241 E College and Bono Community Center, the benches for seating will be ordered soon. In the event of Tornado Warnings these are available for use if you do not have one available at your residents. Each Shelter will hold around 30+ people. We are planning on adding more shelters as money comes available to do so.
